Greetings from the WAY Headquarters!
Human Papillomavirus (HPV) is the most common sexually transmitted infection (STI) because of how easily it can be transmitted from person to person, with over 85% of people at risk of being affected by this virus in their lifetime – through any skin-to-skin sexual activity below the waistline with your hands or mouth, even without penetration. HPV leads to genital warts and 9 HPV-related cancers. People around the world need to know that there is a HPV vaccine that is a cancer prevention tool. It is very safe and very effective; more countries need to offer this cancer prevention tool to their populations.
We would like to call upon young people and members of WAY in raising awareness of HPV. You can be an active agent in and spreading knowledge about HPV, its prevention and the screening and treatment of cervical cancer. A first step to seeing what you can do in your country following the webinar The HPV Pandemic: Why should I care? is to fill out a Situational Assessment for your country.
1. CLICK HERE TO GO TO THE SITUATIONAL ASSESSMENT BY COUNTRY FORM, answer each question;
2. Inquire with your countries health departments/government for the information to fill in the precisions on the form.
We thank you in advance for your support and collaboration.
